What does it cost? We’re all trying to save money wherever possible. To assist with this, here are a few examples what you can buy for: About $50–A night at the movies. Buy four discount movie tickets ($6.50 or $7 each) to see one of the holiday film releases with your family. With money saved, you can afford popcorn and drinks. Tickets can be used for any movie that doesn’t have a “no pass, no discount” restriction. Visit your full-service AAA office or click on www.AAA.com/Tickets. Under $300–A room with a view (based on availability) of either the holiday lights at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City or Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The InterContinental had rooms (as of September) for about $250 per night. Sheraton Suites at the Plaza had a king room with continental breakfast included for about $200 per night. Head to Chicago and stay along North Michigan Avenue at either the Allerton Hotel for about $125 per night or the Westin for $150 to $220. See www.AAA.com for updated rates and contact information. Safe, convenient holiday shopping Most consumers realize credit cards can make holiday shopping convenient, but they also provide a safe way to handle finances at this time of year.
