Enjoy fall racing thrills at two Midwest tracks

As the official motor club of Gateway International Raceway and Kansas Speedway, AAA is welcoming members to both this fall with plenty of action and activities on and off the track.

On Sept. 12, the Copart 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will take place at Gateway International Raceway, which is located in Madison, Ill., just east of downtown St. Louis. On race day, AAA Motorsports will be on hand with our exhibit area where members can test their racing skills on NASCAR racing simulators and see the #77 AAA Dodge show car. Plus, members can spin a prize wheel and register to win a vacation package.

For tickets or details, call 866-35-SPEED (866-357-7333), or visit www.GatewayRaceway.com. Members save $10 off advance tickets and $5 off walk-up tickets. Visit www.AAA.com/savings for more details.

Then over the first weekend in October, Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., will host several races. Action begins Thursday, Oct. 1, with the ARCA RE/MAX Series Kansas Lottery 150. Tickets start at just $5 with a coupon from any Kansas City area AAA office.

NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers will attempt their fastest laps on Friday during O’Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day, followed by the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday. Sunday is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods.

AAA Motorsports will be in the midway during the weekend with the show car, racing simulators and more. For tickets, call (866) 460-RACE (866-460-7223), or visit online at www.kansasspeedway.com.

Savings flow at riverfront music fest

The riverfront in Alton, Ill., will come alive with jazz, swing, blues and rock during the Labor of Love Music Festival this fall, and the discounts AAA members receive on tickets will be even more music to their ears.

The music festival, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6, will be a showcase of nearly a dozen bands and performers, including the Ralph Butler Band and Hudson and the Hoodoo Cats. The show will be from 5:30–9:30 p.m. at the Alton Riverfront Park, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit KidSmart, an organization that provides school supplies to disadvantaged students in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The amphitheater has lawn seating, so bring a blanket or chair. Concessions will be available; outside coolers are prohibited.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. AAA members receive a $7 discount at the door when they show their AAA card. For more details or tickets, click on www.riverfrontamphitheater.com.

To help members get the most out of their membership, AAA is hosting informal presentations at select offices called Maximize Your Membership. The presentations examine how your membership can enhance your life. The next meetings will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17.
Among the topics will be exclusive travel discounts, automotive services and the Show Your Card & Save® program, which offers savings at thousands of retailers. Please RSVP for the meetings at these offices:
