Indiana artist Andrew Davis creates unique sculpture based upon an unsentimentalized view of dreams and childhood. What: Harvest Home Arts & Crafts Festival
When: Oct. 18–19
Where: Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds, Huntingburg
Now in its 32nd year, Four Rivers Arts & Crafts Association presents the annual Harvest Home Arts & Crafts Festival each October. Held from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. each day, the show consists of more than 200 booths with exhibitors selling high-quality, handmade crafts. A food court provides a wide variety of delicious food and refreshments. Quite often, there are crafters demonstrating their skills on-site, such as chainsaw sculpture, blacksmithing and rug-making. What: Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series Speaker Earvin “Magic” Johnson

NBA legend, HIV/AIDS advocate, entrepreneur and philanthropist Earvin “Magic” Johnson will speak at The Centre as part of the city’s Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series at 7 p.m. The lecture series seeks to engage Evansville and surrounding communities to explore, appreciate and celebrate the diversity of race, culture and ethnicity. What: “Capturing Fins and Feathers: Indiana Fish and Wildlife Stamp”

This art exhibit highlights the winning artwork of the Indiana Department Fish and Wildlife Service’s Stamp Program. The Stamp Program is devoted to selling fish and hunting stamps to help to maintain different species of birds and fish around the state of Indiana.

What: Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival
When: Nov. 7–9
Where: The Fun Farm, Lanesville
In this wacky, zany medieval event, teams will compete to build catapults to hurl pumpkins 400 feet for accuracy. Entry Fee is $100 per team with 50 percent paid out as prizes. Primitive camping is available. RSVP by Oct. 17. The Fun Farm is located 2690 Breckenridge Road in Lanesville, Ind., not far from Louisville, Ky. It is a recreational facility with laser tag, paintball, frisbee golf and more.

This “Olde World Christmas Event” is a German heritage market that heralds the Christmas shopping season. What: 20th Annual American General Downtown Holiday Parade
When: Nov. 22
Where: Downtown Evansville
The celebration will begin with Santa’s Workshop, Presented by Fifth Third Bank, in the park on Fourth and Main Streets from 1 to 3 p.m. with arts and crafts for children. Then it culminates with the Holiday Parade at 3 p.m. The parade will start at The Centre, travel down Locust Street to Second Street, turn onto Main Street to MLK Boulevard and then back to The Centre.

What: Peppermint Pops "Christmas Through the Eyes of Children"

The most popular holiday event in the Tri-State makes children of all ages feel young at heart. This season, the Philharmonic presents “Christmas Through the Eyes of Children” featuring the internationally renowned Indianapolis Children’s Choir. The ICC joins the Orchestra and the Evansville Children’s Choirs in an inspiring program which includes music from the films “Polar Express” and “Home Alone.” The Victory Theatre is at 600 Main St. The show is at 8 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
