Approved Auto Repair

AAA members are guaranteed quality auto care service from facilities that have passed stringent AAA standards and display the AAA Approved Auto Repair sign. AAA continuously monitors the performance of qualified facilities, making sure that standards are maintained. Show your AAA Membership card at any Approved Auto Repair facility before any work is done and receive the following benefits:

1. Dispute Resolution – AAR facilities have agreed, by contract, to accept AAA as an independent and final authority in the unlikely event a member has a dispute with an AAR facility over repairs involving a member’s car. Members are not bound by AAA’s decision and may seek other recourse.

2. Free Maintenance Inspection – When your vehicle is being serviced, at your request, the components that most frequently contribute to roadside breakdowns will be inspected at no charge.

3. Written Estimate – A written cost estimate of work will be provided at your request. The actual cost may not exceed the estimate more than 10% without your authorization.

4. Warranty – All repairs, including both parts and labor, are warranted for at least 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

5. Returned Parts – Replaced parts are returned upon request, unless under a warranty or exchange program.

Rental Replacement Vehicle Service

For those instances when your car is mechanically disabled, AAA can help you arrange for a rental replacement vehicle at special member-only rates. To find out if this service is available in your area, or to make arrangements for a rental replacement vehicle, simply call 1-800-AAA-HELP.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Etching

Etching the VIN on a vehicle’s windshield and other glass is a significant vehicle theft deterrent. Thieves will usually pass them up in favor of an un-etched auto. The Automobile Club Inter-Insurance Exchange offers a 5% discount of comprehensive coverage on VIN-etched vehicles. For VIN-etching locations in your area call 1- 800-222-7623, ext. 6821.

Legal Fee Reimbursement

AAA pays up to $900 for legal defense when you plead not guilty in court to a covered traffic charge. You choose your attorney. In order to qualify for reimbursement, provide a AAA Legal Fee Reimbursement application, an attorney’s statement, a copy of the citation and a copy of the final disposition within 60 days from the trial date up to $1,800 in legal reimbursement protection for AAA Plus and AAA Premier members.) Legal Fee Reimbursement does not apply when you are charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or narcotic drugs; driving with a suspended or revoked operators or chauffeur’s license; violation of any prohibition act; traffic violation arising from the commission of or attempt to commit a felony; violation of any safety responsibility law. Call your nearest AAA office or 1-800-222-7623, ext. 6861, for more information.

Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificate

If you are stopped for a motor vehicle violation in some states your AAA membership card and Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificate may be accepted instead of cash bail if the fine for the violation is $1,000 or less. Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificates are available at the AAA office or can be downloaded online at www.AAA.com.

Offenses not covered include driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquors, drugs or narcotics; failure to appear for violations; driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license; hit and run; failure to present evidence of insurance; illegal use or falsification of license or registration; engaging in a felony; attempting to elude/eluding police; or while driving a vehicle used for commercial purposes. Additional terms and conditions apply.

General Insurance Company of America (GICA) administers the Guaranteed Arrest Bond program. By using the Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificate, you agree to reimburse AAA or GICA for the total combined amount of any fines, forfeitures, court costs, and other costs paid by AAA and/or GICA in connection with the use of the Certificate. Call your nearest AAA office or 1-800-222-7623 ext. 6861, for more information.

$5,000 Theft Reward

AAA pays for information that leads to arrest and conviction of a thief of a AAA member’s motor vehicle. The owner of a stolen car, police officers and security guards are not eligible for the reward. The amount is the same regardless of the number of thieves convicted. Applications are available by calling 1-800-222-7623, ext. 6861.

Vehicle Mechanical Breakdown Repair Coverage

As vehicles age, the risk and associated cost of repairs increases. For added protection, consider purchasing mechanical breakdown repair coverage. AAA has a number of plans to fit your needs. Each plan pays for the cost of parts and labor for any covered repair. Pay just the deductible you select ($0, $50, or $100) and drive away. Vehicle Security Care is good at any licensed repair facility in the U.S. or Canada. It is transferable if you sell your vehicle to a private party and is cancelable at any time on a prorated basis. The repairer is paid directly by the plan. Choose coverage and terms (months and miles) that match your vehicle and driving habits. Repair coverage plans should be read carefully so as to understand the limitations of coverage and plan specifics. To learn more, visit AAA's web site. To purchase Vehicle Security Care, contact your branch office or call 1-800-222-7623, ext. 6820. Vehicle Security Care is issued and administered by The Warranty Group.
