This optional coverage applies if your car is damaged by fire, theft, vandalism, glass breakage, windstorm or even contact with an animal. The coverage provides to repair your car, or pay the actual cash value if the car is deemed to be a total loss, less your deductible. Comprehensive coverage does not cover wear and tear, engine failure, or other mechanical difficulties. When you are financing your car, comprehensive coverage may be required by the lienholder.
This optional coverage provides the payment to fix your car, or pay the actual cash value if the car is deemed to be a total loss, if it is overturned or damaged in a collision with another car or object. This coverage would pay for damages to your covered vehicle regardless of who is at fault, but this coverage is subject to a deductible. As with comprehensive coverage, if you are financing your car the lienholder may require collision coverage.
This optional coverage is invaluable if you have a covered loss and you do not have another car to use while yours is being repaired. This coverage is available for purchase if you carry collision and comprehensive coverages on the vehicle. We will reimburse you, up to the policy limit, for rental car expenses incurred when the covered vehicle is not driveable or is in the shop for repairs during a reasonable period due to a covered loss. The policy limits are a per day dollar limit up to a total dollar limit per accident. Several limit combinations are available for many types of vehicles.
This optional endorsement is invaluable if you have a vehicle loan with little or no equity or if you lease a vehicle with a large lease obligation. This endorsement will pay the outstanding balance of your loan, even if the actual cash value of your stolen or damaged vehicle is less than your outstanding loan balance. This endorsement will also pay your outstanding lease obligation, even if the actual cash value of your stolen or damaged vehicle is less than your outstanding lease obligation. This coverage compliments your comprehensive and collision coverage and those deductibles would still apply.
An example if you purchase a new vehicle and add this endorsement: Your car is damaged beyond the actual cash value in a hailstorm with damage to every panel, and the vehicle is declared a total loss. Your loan balance is $22,000 because the car is only six months old and you put very little money as a down payment. Because the car has been driven for six months and it is no longer new, the car has depreciated and is now only worth $19,300. Under this endorsement, the policy would pay the $22,000, less your deductible, to satisfy your outstanding loan balance.
Some conditions apply to be eligible for this endorsement. The auto must be new, the endorsement must be added within 30 days of leasing or financing, the vehicle must carry both collision and comprehensive coverage, and the loan must be from a financial institution. This endorsement is not available for antiques, classics, trailers, recreational use vehicles, and heavy farm use vehicles.
This endorsement does not apply to excessive mileage charges on leased autos, excessive wear and tear as defined in the lease agreement, credit life insurance premiums, extended warranties, and any other coverages or charges which are financed as part of the purchase or lease contract.
Uninsured motorist property damage coverage provides for payment for the repair of your car, up to the policy limit if it is involved in an accident which is the fault of a driver who is uninsured, or if your car is involved in an accident with a hit and run driver. This coverage is available in Illinois and is required in Arkansas unless rejected in writing. This coverage is generally not available in Kansas or Missouri.
The Arkansas coverage has a policy limit of $25,000 and is subject to a $200 deductible. The deductible does not apply if your car also has collision coverage and the driver of the other vehicle has been identified and is solely at fault.
In Illinois, this coverage is only available if your car does not have collision coverage. This coverage pays up to the policy limit of $15,000 and has a $250 deductible. Damage must be caused by actual physical contact with a vehicle being driven by an uninsured motorist.
