Since 1972, automotive technicians have been certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) an independent, non-profit institute. Technicians who attain certification in all automotive areas receive the title of Master Certified Automotive Technician.
To remain certified, repair professionals must be retested every five years. Tests encompass real-world, on-the-job skills questions on current technology. If you don't see posted certifications, ask.
