

1930 - AAA clubs were pioneers in the traffic safety field, sponsoring "safety-lanes" where members' cars were given a safety check.




1934 - Amos Neyhart, father of driver education and AAA consultant, taught first high school class in driver education February through June at State College High School in Pennsylvania.






1937 - AAA drafted model act on highway beautification

1932 - AAA sponsored first national school Safety Patrol Parade in Washington, D.C. - April 30, 1932.











1935 - AAA pioneered high school driver education and published first course outline for teachers. It was titled "Sportsmanlike Driving."
